I prefer 27.5, but I'm currently riding 26" because they're still new enough that you can get killer deals on slightly used 2014/2015 26" DH bikes on eBay. There's a few potential sizing factors for 27.5 vs 29. One is inseam and buzzing the rear tire. I'm a 6'5" former bmx rider and occasionally will tuck the bike enough on jumps to buzz my butt (not a real problem though). The buzzing becomes a problem when you can't avoid it and that's partially due to inseam and maybe due to technique.
