(I have managed to start with less.) 2. A good air supply. 3. A good fuel supply. As regards the air supply, there are reports of mice or similar getting into the air filter. Points. 58. Oct 11, 2021. #1. You turn the key and you hear a click and nothing else. This only happens when engine is hot. FIAT have checked everything and no fault found. The click is the small starter solonoid which then energises the starter solonoid. When a starter motor operates normally, it first draws a very high current (maybe over 1000 Amps). As the starter motor speeds up, the current very quickly reduces to under 500 Amps. The high current doesn't last long enough to blow the fuse.
